Brief Curriculum Vitae

Carlos Borrego, PhD in Applied Environmental Sciences at Free University of Brussels, is Full Professor of Environmental Engineering with focus on Air Pollution. During more than 35 years working on environmental problems, he is serving Portugal on a number of international scientific boards and committees (EC, NATO, ESF…). He was Minister of Environment, Vice–Rector of the University of Aveiro and presently is the Director of Department of Environment and Planning and Director of the European Association for the Science of Air Pollution (EURASAP).
He was involved in more than 26 European projects and research work includes over 750 scientific publications. He is involved in 1 European 2 national projects, and 3 COST Actions, namely COST TU801, COST ES804 and COST ES1006.
As Director of the Institute for Environment and Development (IDAD), the interface unit of University of Aveiro, develops professional consulting and industrial project activities on sustainable development.
