Brief Curriculum Vitae
Miro Haluka received his diploma from the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava. He gained a doctor degree in physics from the University of Vienna with a thesis entitled "Analysis of the growth process and characterisation of fullerite single crystals prepared from the vapour phase". He worked as a postdoc and visiting researcher at Max Planck Institute in Stuttgart, and at the Laboratory for Nanotechnology at the Clemson University mostly on topics of hydrogen storage in carbon nanostructures and the growth of carbon nanotubes and their characterization. From 2007 to 2009, he worked in the Micro and Nano Scale Engineering group at the Eindhoven University of Technology on the growth of CNT assemblies with predefined dimensionality utilizing a laser assisted CVD method. In May 2009, he joined the Prof. Ch. Hierold’s group of Micro and Nanosystems at ETH Zurich. He is involved in the targeted growth of SWCNTs and their integration into gas sensor devices.
